Place Making: Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital

Innovative design concepts and construction details allowed the client to realize a unique and memorable environment as part of their patient/visitor experience.  Recirculating water features were designed to be safe and ADA accessible.  Gravity wall construction utilizing local sandstone were cost effective, dramatic landscape features.  Designed with only one way in and out of this complex space,  the design allows children to safely explore on their own “hidden” slides, waterfalls, glowing molded glass icons,  groves of Hornbeam and Redwoods, and stone passages while within sight of care givers.
